About Cindy
Our Founder
The Story
Cindy grew up in a community that felt like family, a place where neighbours looked out for one another and care was simply a way of life. Raised by two loving parents alongside her two sisters, her heart for people was shaped from a young age. As a child, her dream was simple. She wanted to help people. Today, The Cindy Foundation is that childhood dream being lived out in purpose, faith, and action.
Her journey led her into education, where she graduated in 2017 and spent years pouring into the lives of children through teaching, writing, mentorship, and community work. Along the way she discovered that helping a child does not always look the same. Sometimes it looks like exposure to a new environment. Sometimes it looks like access to opportunities. Sometimes it simply looks like helping a child believe their dream is possible.
She is also the author of three books, including Where Dreams Meet Reality, a children's book written for the child who dreams in ordinary places. Her heart has always been to remind children that where they come from does not limit where they can go.
Turning 30 marked a significant season of maturity, responsibility, and commissioning for Cindy. One scripture has shaped this season deeply: 'To whom much is given, much is required.'
The Cindy Foundation was born from a desire to turn children's dreams into a reality. Cindy believes children carry a pure, childlike faith that believes, imagines, and reaches beyond limitation. In many ways, while she helps children bring their dreams to life, they are helping her live out her own.
Launching from Cape Town to the world, The Cindy Foundation is more than an organisation. It is a childhood dream, a God-given assignment, and a platform created to expose children to possibility, purpose, love, and hope.
2017
A Foundation for the Future
Graduated from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) with a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for children, education and purpose.
2018 to 2020
The Classroom Years
Served as a full-time Foundation Phase teacher, investing in young learners and discovering that education extends far beyond the classroom.
2021
Becoming an Author
Published her first book, Sunsets and Waterfalls: The Heartbreak That Masked My True Purpose, sharing a personal journey of healing, faith and discovering God's purpose through life's challenges.
2023
Where Dreams Began
Met the children and families of the Nectar Road community, a moment that would shape the vision for everything ahead. Published her second children's book, Where Dreams Meet Reality, launched in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, before travelling to Zanzibar, Tanzania, where its message continued to encourage children across borders.
2024
A Season of Preparation
Joined the Cheslin Kolbe Foundation and Metro World Child, serving children through schools and community outreach. A season where leadership was developed, faith was strengthened and the vision for what was possible expanded.
2025
Expanding the Reach
Through Metro World Child, helped impact the lives of more than 30,000 children each week through school programmes and community outreach. A season that reinforced the calling and prepared the way for what was coming.
2026
A Year of Legacy
At the age of 30, published her third book, 30 Things Every Girl Should Know. On 1 June 2026, The Cindy Foundation was officially established. What began as one teacher with a heart for children has become a growing movement dedicated to helping children discover purpose, overcome barriers and dream without limits.
